These terms apply to the Crewboard website at crewboard.uk and the Crewboard application at app.crewboard.uk. They are a draft and are being reviewed before Crewboard leaves early access.
Who we are
Crewboard is operated by Paul Whittle as an individual, not a company. In these terms “we” and “us” mean Paul Whittle. You can contact us at hello@crewboard.uk.
Early access
Crewboard is in early access. Features may change, and some are marked beta or planned. We will tell station owners about significant changes in advance where we can.
Accounts and stations
- Station owners create a workspace for their station and invite members. The owner is responsible for who they invite and the roles they give.
- Keep your password secure and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- Only record information you are entitled to record, and keep it accurate. Do not upload anything unlawful, harmful or that infringes someone else’s rights.
What Crewboard is for
Crewboard helps stations organise training: who is coming, whose turn is next and what training happened. The Training Board and suggested crew are an administrative aid. They are not operational, safety or launch decisions. Decisions about who trains, launches or goes afloat remain with the station and its responsible people.
Crewboard is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the RNLI or any other rescue organisation.
Subscriptions
Crewboard is offered as a subscription for each station. During early access, the terms of any subscription, including price and any trial period, are agreed with the station owner before anything is charged. Payments are processed by Stripe.
Your data
Station data belongs to the station. We process it to provide the service, as described in the privacy notice. You can ask us for an export of your station’s training records.
Availability
We aim to keep Crewboard available and to protect data carefully, but we cannot promise the service will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. Keep any records you are required to hold elsewhere as your organisation requires.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, or for decisions made using information in Crewboard.
Ending use
You can stop using Crewboard at any time. A station owner can ask us to close the station’s workspace. We may suspend accounts that misuse the service, and will explain why unless the law prevents it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will show the date of the latest change at the top of this page and tell account holders about significant changes.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
